Destiny 2 players are counting down to the start of the next Epic Raid, titled The Desert Perpetual.
The next Destiny 2 Epic Raid has a September 27 release date and a 6pm BST UK start time.
The first 48-hours will be dedicated to the World First Contest, which sees teams compete to become the first to complete the hard-as-nails Raid.
Indeed, Contest mode will be active through September 29, ending at 6pm BST.
Needless to say, Bungie has created a selection of rules and requirements for teams looking to compete in the Epic Raid World First Contest.
"These requirements are both for verification purposes to combat cheaters, and to improve the overall viewing experience for our players watching streams," Bungie explains.
"We will use this race to test out these requirements and, based on the outcome and player feedback, we will make additional changes to these rules in future races."
According to Bungie, streaming is required, but only one member of the six-person fireteam will need to stream.
Streams must be on YouTube or Twitch, and the stream must be set to video-on-demand.
While team members can hide portions of their screen, they must use an overlay provided by Bungie and cannot use additional overlays to block other portions of their stream.
Finally, game audio must be on at all times, although players are allowed to mute their voice audio.
In terms of what fans can expect, the Epic Raid will introduce new challenges, new pursuits and new rewards.
The Contest Mode version of the raid is even more difficult, featuring a Power cap and more aggressive enemies. The Contest Mode also has an updated loot pool, with first time encounters dropping Tier 5 gear.
After 48-hours (or when a team manages to complete the Raid), the Epic Raid will revert to normal. "Completing all encounters grants an exclusive emblem, the raid Exotic, and its catalyst," Bungie adds.
Needless to say, the first fireteam to complete the epic raid on Contest mode will earn exclusive raid belts once the results have been verified.
