A huge fire has erupted at a recycling plant in Leicester, with at least eight fire engines battling the blaze. There are also more than 40 firefighters in attendance on the scene, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said.
Leicester Police warned: "Due to the fire on Ulverscroft Road, please keep windows closed for your safety. Police and Fire are dealing and will provide an update as soon as possible. Thank you." The force added: "Due to the fire on Ulverscroft Road, Leicester, residents in the area are to be aware not to drink the water from taps. Severn Trent are aware and updates will follow."
