A European city famed for its storybook charm and magical Christmas markets is set to become even more accessible for UK travellers this winter.
EasyJet has announced new direct flights from Manchester to Strasbourg, the enchanting capital of France's Grand Est region, beginning in November. Known as the "Capital of Christmas," Strasbourg transforms into a festive wonderland every winter, drawing visitors from around the world to its centuries-old Christkindelsmärik market.
The market, which dates back to 1570, will run this year from November 27 to December 27, filling the city's cobbled streets and historic squares with twinkling lights, wooden chalets, mulled wine, and hand-crafted gifts.
Tickets for the new route are already on sale, starting from £48.99 one-way.
From November 28, the service will operate twice weekly on Fridays and Sundays, giving travellers the perfect opportunity for a weekend getaway to one of Europe's most picturesque destinations.
The new flights form part of EasyJet's winter expansion, which includes 22 new routes from UK airports to European destinations.
For those eager to visit sooner, EasyJet already operates flights to Strasbourg from London Heathrow, with fares starting from £38.99.
The journey takes just one hour and 35 minutes, making it an ideal short break for travellers seeking a mix of culture, cuisine, and Christmas spirit.
While Strasbourg is best known for its winter magic, it is equally captivating in summer.
The city's blend of French and German influences, half-timbered medieval houses, canals, and flower-decked bridges make it look like something straight out of a fairytale.
During the warmer months, visitors can enjoy outdoor cafes, river cruises, and temperatures that average around 26°C, perfect for exploring the scenic Alsace region.
With its charming old town, stunning cathedral, and one of Europe's oldest Christmas markets, Strasbourg remains a timeless destination.
