Bhubaneswar: Sand artist and Padma Shri recipient Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a striking sand sculpture of Goddess Durga on Puri sea beach in Odisha to wish Team India success in the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan in Dubai tonight.
Pattnaik used nearly five tonnes of sand to craft a 6-foot-tall sculpture depicting Maa Durga blessing the Indian cricket team. The artwork reflects national unity, cultural pride, and the essence of sportsmanship. The sculpture includes 250 intricately designed sand balls, representing strength, teamwork, and the shared aspirations of millions of cricket fans.
“Maa Durga’s blessings to Team India as they gear up for the Asia Cup 2025 Final! I created this sand art at Puri Beach, Odisha, featuring Maa Durga with an installation of 250balls — symbolizing strength, unity, and good wishes,” the internationally-acclaimed artist posted on X.
