Announcement of Reserve List: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has unveiled the reserve list for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. This updated list features 114 additional candidates who have been selected for esteemed civil services, including IAS, IPS, IFS, and other central services. The complete reserve list can be accessed on the official UPSC website, www.upsc.gov.in.
Final Merit List Released in April:
The final results for the UPSC CSE 2024 were published on April 22, 2025. During this announcement, the Commission recommended 1,009 candidates for 1,129 available positions, with 15 candidates being provisionally selected. The remaining vacancies were allocated based on the available seats, and the results for these have now been disclosed.
Category-Wise Selection Breakdown:
The reserve list includes candidates from various categories as follows:
1. General Category – 94 candidates
2. Other Backward Classes (OBC) – 13 candidates
3. Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) – 5 candidates
4. Scheduled Castes – 1 candidate
5. Scheduled Tribes – 1 candidate
In total, 114 candidates have been granted an additional opportunity.
Preparation of the Reserve List:
According to Rules 20(4) and 20(5) of the Civil Services Examination 2024, the Commission prepares a combined reserve list following the final selection list. This list comprises candidates who rank just below those recommended in the merit order and are appointed as vacancies arise.
