Tesco has issued an urgent recall for a popular ready meal over fears it could trigger allergic reactions.
The supermarket giant is urging customers not to eat its Stir Fry Tikka Chicken due to undeclared egg and mustard in the sauce sachet, which are not mentioned on the label. This poses a potential health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg or mustard.
Customers who have purchased the item and have an allergy to these ingredients are being advised not to consume it. Instead, they should return the pack to any Tesco store where they will be given a full refund. This follows a recent product recall by Lidl due to potential salmonella contamination.

The recalled Tesco Stir Fry Tikka Chicken has a pack size of 650g and a Use By date of September 7, 2025. In its warning notice, the retailer stated: "We are recalling a specific date code of Tesco Stir Fry Tikka Chicken 650g due to the presence of egg and mustard in the sauce sachet element of the product.", reports Chronicle Live.
"Egg and mustard are not mentioned on the product label, which may pose a health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg or mustard.
"If you have purchased the affected date code of the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg or mustard, please return it to any Tesco store for a full refund. No receipt is required. No other Tesco products are affected by this recall. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused."
The Food Standards Agency has also shared the warning, stating: "Tesco is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
"These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. If you have bought the above product do not eat it.
