Sweet moment Olly Murs' daughter meets newborn brother as nickname revealed

Singer-songwriter Olly Murs has now shared a glimpse at his daughter Madi meeting her newborn brother for the first time. His post about the "special" moment comes following the news earlier this week that his wife Amelia Murs had given birth.

Olly, 41, and Amelia, 32, announced the birth of their son in a joint post on Instagram yesterday. The couple revealed to their followers that they have chosen to call their youngest child Albert and the baby's nickname has since been shared too.

It was unveiled by Olly in a post uploaded to the platform this morning. The radio host's update to fans included a photo that showed his eldest child, Madi, one, being introduced to her newborn following his arrival.

The photo showed Amelia holding Albert whilst laying in a bed. Madi, who was being held over the bed by Olly, was seen with her arms out towards her brother in the family photo.

Olly wrote in the caption of his post, which was shared jointly with his wife Amelia: "When Madi met Albie." He included a blue heart and a teary-eyed emoji in the caption, which also revealed they are nicknaming the tot Albie.

The post has amassed 70,000 likes on the platform. Several celebrities were among those who liked it, including Olly's pal Mark Wright and his wife Michelle Keegan, as well as fellow Heart Radio presenter Amanda Holden.

One fan wrote in the comments section: "What a special moment, such a perfect little family." Another said: "Absolutely precious. Such a beautiful photo of the most adorable moment." A third wrote: "Special memories for ever."

He later posted footage of Madi using a walking aid whilst her newborn sibling lay asleep on a table. Olly, who was heard encouraging his daughter to retrieve a ball from the other side of the room, wrote beside a laughing emoji in the caption of the post this afternoon: "Current situ ..."

It comes after Olly and Amelia announced Albert's birth yesterday. The couple shared a photo of themselves walking out of hospital together, with Olly cradling Madi whilst also holding a baby carrier in the corridor. They wrote in the caption: "Walking out as four. Welcome to the world, our little Albert."

The couple had announced that they were expecting another baby together in April, shortly after Madi's birthday. Olly and Amelia wrote in a joint post at the time: "We're so egg-cited to share this ... Another Baby Murs on the way."

Just days earlier, they had celebrated their daughter's first birthday. Olly wrote in a post that marked the occasion at the time: "Can't believe our Madi is 1 today. 12 months of the most adorable laughs. Just love her so much."

Whilst his wife Amelia said in her tribute to Madi on the platform for the milestone birthday: "1 years of our little lady. How did we get so lucky with a daughter like you. Happy birthday angel chops, love you sooo much."
