As the transfer window draws to a close and the Alexander Isak saga looks to be at an end, football fans are being warned that they could miss out on a massive Sky Sports discount worth more than £300. To mark the start of the new Premier League season, Virgin Media launched its Summer of Sports sale, offering savings up to £336 across TV, Sky Sports and broadband packages.
The sale is now hours away from ending, with the deadline set for for 11.59pm on Tuesday, September 2. Virgin's discounted sport packages now begin with the Bigger Combo bundle + Sports, boasting more than 200 TV channels including eight from Sky Sports such as Main Event, Football and F1.
Slashed from the usual price of £65.99 to £54.99, this option is now £264 cheaper and also offers 516Mbps fibre broadband for seamless, lag-free streaming and gaming. But the biggest bargain available is with Virgin's Biggest Combo bundle, which includes more than 210 channels with Sky Sports, 516Mbps broadband, Sky Cinema and a free Netflix subscription too.

Shoppers opting for this package before the deadline can pocket a saving of £336 from the usual price, which is reduced from £78.99 to £64.99. Virgin claims that both of these plans are now at their 'lowest ever' price, but they are expected to bounce back to their usual prices on Tuesday.
The third and final package in Virgin's sale, the Mega Volt bundle, has been reduced from £84.99 to £79.99. This comprehensive plan offers access to more than 230 TV channels including Sky Sports and Sky Cinema, plus Netflix, super-fast 1,130Mbps broadband and an O2 SIM card with unlimited data, minutes and texts, all with a saving of £120, reports Wales Online.
For footie fans on a budget, Sky is offering its flagship Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for £35. Both Sky and Virgin customers can also add a discounted TNT Sports subscription to their package for £18, a significant saving compared to the £30.99 cost when signing up via Discovery+ Premium.
However, there's a catch to Virgin's packages, as bill payers are subject to annual price rises each year. Like other major providers such as Sky and BT, Virgin will increase its prices every April, with customers on the Bigger Combo bundle + Sports set to pay £58.49 from April 2026 and £61.99 from April 2027.
