Cooking bacon with flawless results might seem like a straightforward process, but it can frequently end with burnt bits or utterly dry strips.
TikTok's @chefthomson has cracked the code to achieving crispiness without the burn and revealed his expert advice for preparing perfect bacon. He highlighted that the "most common mistake" people make is using excessively high heat which simply leaves your bacon "very dry and crusty".
Forget about excessive oil or the typical oven orair fryer methods, and instead, attempt his foolproof technique. The culinary expert shared a video showing how to create the "best bacon you'll ever have".

It's straightforward, start by placing your bacon in a cold pan, cover it in water, and turn up the heat to medium.
Listen out for the water bubbling as that's your signal to let the contents simmer. If the water becomes too bubbly, you simply need to reduce the heat slightly.
He maintains that there's no need to be cautious about flipping the bacon, as this isn't like preparing a steak. By following these steps, he promised: "You'll end up with chewy, rich bacon. This is going to be some of the best bacon you'll probably ever have."
One user, @uknownperson420, responded: "I agree because I used to like crunchy bacon but I tried cooking bacon this way and it slaps." For those who prefer their bacon slightly more crispy, the chef explained: "Using this method you can still make the bacon crispy. Just leave it in the pan longer."

However, not everyone agrees, as another user champions oven-cooking to achieve "perfect" bacon consistently, reports the Express. The chef responded: "Oven is good for a large batch. For a smaller portion, this method will be quicker and yield a better result."
If you're more concerned about saving time than achieving peak crispiness, then there's another method that might be a better fit. In just 45 seconds, you can have delicious bacon with no mess and no oil at all, making it quicker and healthier than frying bacon in a pan - and all you need is one simple tool guaranteed to already be in your kitchen.
Microwave bacon might not sound particularly appetising, butfood experts confirm that you can swiftly and easily make perfect bacon rashers this way, whether smoked or unsmoked. BBC Good Food advises to microwave bacon on a plate lined with some kitchen roll.
