Two terrorists were killed in an encounter in the Gurez sector of Bandipora district on Thursday after alert troops foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control.
According to an update provided by Chinar Corps, the operation was launched jointly by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police on the basis of intelligence about a possible infiltration bid in the area.
Troops noticed suspicious movement near the LoC and challenged the individuals. The terrorists opened indiscriminate fire, which was effectively retaliated by the security forces, leading to the killing of two infiltrators.
The Army further confirmed that the operation is still in progress.
