As tensions between India and Pakistan intensify, drone attacks and heavy shelling along the Indo-Pakistan border have continued to escalate, leading to casualties and widespread panic. Pakistani drones were spotted at multiple locations, including Jammu, Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, while heavy artillery fire targeted civilian areas, resulting in loss of life and damage to properties. The Indian armed forces responded swiftly, intercepting drones and preventing potential damage. The ongoing aggression follows the recent military standoff between the two countries, sparked by a deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
Drone Attacks and Shelling
On the third day of heightened tensions, Pakistani drones were intercepted at 26 locations across India, including Baramulla, Srinagar, Jammu, Ferozepur, and Jaisalmer. In Punjab’s Ferozepur, an armed drone targeted a civilian area, leaving three family members injured, with one in critical condition. Aerial threats continued in Jammu and Kashmir, where drones were also spotted in Jammu, Samba, and Udhampur. These drones were aimed at military installations, including airports and airbases, raising concerns over the security of key strategic locations.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani military’s artillery shelling claimed the lives of three individuals and left several others injured. Among the victims was a civilian in Poonch, while a soldier was killed in cross-border shelling in Uri, Kashmir. The heavy bombardment caused severe damage to residential areas, prompting evacuations and creating a state of panic among the local population. In the midst of this violence, the Indian Army retaliated by destroying several Pakistani drones mid-air, using counter-drone systems to neutralize the aerial threats.
Blackouts and Security Measures
As a result of the attacks, several regions, including Jammu, Ferozepur, and Barmer, experienced complete blackouts, affecting millions of residents. Power outages were imposed in multiple districts, including Jodhpur, Amritsar, and Hoshiarpur, as air raid sirens warned civilians of ongoing threats. The authorities have advised people to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary movement to ensure their safety.
The Indian government remains on high alert as the situation continues to unfold. The air force has been deployed to monitor the skies, and security forces are working tirelessly to protect vulnerable border areas. Despite the ongoing conflict, India’s military has successfully thwarted multiple infiltration attempts, including the killing of seven terrorists in the Samba district during a counterattack.
